3M Corp. has acquired Polymer Engineering Corp., the Oxnard, CA maker of Duramix urethane adhesives. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
3M contends the addition of the Duramix brand will help extend 3M’s automotive refinishing and repair business. “This acquisition demonstrates 3M’s commitment to the refinish industry, and we look forward to providing our customers an even wider array for product solutions,” said Steve Landwehr, division vice president, 3M automotive aftermarket division. “We’re enthusiastic about the prospects of joining Duramix brand product and technologies with ours and successfully growing our businesses.”
