Cathelco has been a leader in pipework anti-fouling, with some 8,000 installations on ships of all sizes over a period of more than 40 years. The firm has also developed an impressed current cathodic protection (ICCP) system which has been fitted on some 4,000 vessels. With the pipework anti-fouling and ICCP activities merged, Cathelco and Jotun will combine two worldwide sales networks. “This is very important for customers because representation is close to hand for owners, shipyards and repair facilities, wherever they are in the world. It also provides the ability to respond quickly to tenders and technical inquiries,” said Justin Salisbury, managing director of Cathelco Ltd.
