Tego Coating and Ink Additives has introduced three new products, Airex 936, Airex 938 and Airex 962, designed for dearating and degassing solventborne wood coatings formulations. Airex 936 and Airex 938 are recommended for solventborne primer formulations. They are based on a foam destroying polymer, polyvinylisobutylene, supplied 20% active, as a solution in mixture of mineral spirits and a proprietary butylester and are normally used at a level of 0.3%-0.5% on the total formulation.
Airex 962, based on an organo-modified polysiloxane, contains foam destroying polymers. It is supplied 4% active, as a solution in a mixture of mineral spirits and isobutanol. It is recommended for both matte and high-gloss solventborne polyurethane, acrylic and nitrocellulose topcoat formulations. All three products can be applied by brush and/or airless spray.
