BASF’s ColorCARE System and DuPont’s “Wet-on-Wet”
System Win 2004 PACE Awards
BASF has earned a 2004 Automotive News Premier Automotive Suppliers Contribution to Excellence (PACE) award for ColorCARE, its software system that helps OEMs match colors between new vehicles and add-on parts. The award was presented to BASF in the manufacturing process and capital equipment category.
ColorCARE, which was developed by BASF in Ludwigshafen, helps eliminate color deviations at the factory. It has helped reduce end-of-line refinishing coats for companies such as GM, Ford and Volkswagen.
DuPont Performance Coatings’ “wet-on-wet” coatings system has also garnered a 2004 PACE award. The system, which allows vehicles to receive two enamel colors in one pass
