Makers of coatings for the graphic arts market know how essential the right gloss or matte finish can be to the overall appearance of a project. Many times, however, the designer isn’t the decision maker when it comes to matte versus gloss.
Fuji Hunt Photographic Chemicals and Pantone, Inc. have created a swatch book that provides graphic designers, ad agencies and printers with a reference tool to specify Pantone ink color and Fuji Hunt coatings.
The new book gives designers rather, than the pressroom floor manager, the ability to select the coating. “Now, the designer can preview four different Fuji Hunt coatings and their effect when applied over Pantone color, giving them the freedom to specify which coatings they prefer on their final printed pieces before the job even reaches the pressroom floor,” said Michael Tocci, senior marketing manager, graphic markets group, Fuji Hunt Photographic Chemicals.
The swatch book is organized in four sections with a repeating palette of 36 Pantone Matching System colors, printed with and without Fuji Hunt’s aqueous coatings in three gloss levels or the company’s UV coating.
