PPG Industries has expanded and reorganized its coil and extrusion coatings marketing staff. Responsibilities for the expanded function now include strategic development, market research, the creation of promotional literature and general support of the sales staff. The team is led by Scott Moffatt, who was named technical director of marketing in January. He is a 29-year veteran of PPG and previously held management and directorial posts for wood, transportation and industrial coatings.
Andy Meshanko will be responsible for marketing coil coatings to the appliance, heating, ventilator and air conditioning, rainware and lighting fixture markets. He has been with PPG since 1989, most recently as sourcing analyst for the corporate raw materials purchasing department.
Jim Breslin, who previously served as North American automotive manager for PPG’s architectural finishes department, has been chosen to market coil coatings to the building products market. In his previous post, Breslin coordinated product development and marketing efforts between PPG’s architectural finishes and automotive coatings businesses. He has been with PPG since 1999.
Sharon Bird, who has been with PPG’s industrial coatings since 1994, will continue in her role as marketing communications manager, which encompasses responsibilities for all outside promotional activities including conventions and trade shows, advertising and product literature. Bird will also remain on the brand and communications team for the IdeaScapes cross-business PPG architectural solutions marketing initiative.
