Uzwil, February 15, 2010 – Bühler will be represented twice at American Coating Show (ACS) in Charlotte, N.C. from April 13 – 15. Bühler Partec is introducing its new functional additive, OxylinkTM, for water-borne paints and varnishes, and the Grinding & Dispersion division is presenting its solutions for manufacturing paints and varnishes.
The American Coating Show was held for the first time two years ago. In the meantime it has billed itself as the major trade show for the industry with over 300 exhibitors and over 5500 visitors.
Bühler Partec Launches a New Product: Oxylink™
Bühler is presenting its new paint and varnish additive Oxylink™ at booth number 1224. This additive was developed by Bühler PARTEC, which has specialized in the processing and refining of nano-particles (1-100 nm) to ready-for-use nanodispersions as additives within the scope of the relatively new business unit, nanotechnology.
This innovative product is a formulated performance additive for water-borne varnishes. It increases the cross-link density of the coating which leads to an increased MEK rub resistance, as well as blocking and humidity resistance. In addition, Oxylink™ reduces the time to further processing of the varnished substrates. Oxylink™ contains tailor-made nanoparticles that create the strengthening effect through the interaction with the polymeric binding agents.
Solutions for Increase Productivity
At booth number 1749, the Grinding&Dispersion business unit will provide information on the complete product portfolio as well as information about the advantages of the full volume mill for mass products and the high-performance mill for nanodispersions. The Bühler range of products extends from the small laboratory three-roll mill along with the mechatronic ceramic three-roll mill to the fully-automatic, camberless production three-roll mill. These products are available as stand-alone machines or within a complete production environment. With its continuous and batch-oriented mixing systems, Bühler offers solutions for increased productivity.
