Cortec launches VpCI-380

September 13, 2011

Cortec’s new VpCI-380 is a fluoropolymer modified water-based acrylic, designed specifically for the railway industry. Using a mixture of nontoxic, organic inhibitors VpCI-380 can replace most primer and topcoat systems with corrosion protection in just one coat, the company said. VpCI-380 is a flexible solution to use alone or in conjunction with Cortec VpCI-395 primer and can be applied by spray, flow coat, brush or dip. VpCI-380 Railcar Coating adheres to a wide variety of substrates including ferrous and nonferrous metals and many engineered plastics; its hardness and moisture resistance make it an ideal air-dry/force-dry industrial coating. VpCI-380 offers a non-flammable, UV resistant barrier from the elements with a fast-drying/high gloss finish. It also exhibits excellent outdoor performance, resisting chipping or cracking in prolonged exposure to sunlight.
