Duraziv, a Romanian manufacturer of building materials owned by local entrepreneur Daniel Guzu, has set up a new production line for decorative paints and coatings with a production capacity of 50,000 tons per year in Popesti Leordeni. Total investment in the production of paints and coatings is approximately €2 million. For this year, the company estimates that paints will provide up to 20 percent of total company sales. In 2011, paints had a share of over 10 percent in the business. The company estimates 2012 will bring sales of €3.5 million from paints and plasters, up 75 percent over the previous year. In 2011, Duraziv paint sales exceeded €2 million. Duraziv's paint division was launched in the second half of 2010 and it owns three factories in Romania, one for dry mortar, another for paint and other water-based coatings, and the third produces metal profiles, all located near Bucharest, in Popesti Leordeni.
