R.E. Carroll, Inc. has renewed its focus to increase market share in the paint and coatings industry through the hiring of Larry Krock as director of business development and Robert Thompson as paint and coatings technical sales representative for the Southeast Region(VA, NC, SC, GA, FL, AL).
Krock began his career in the coatings industry with Cargill as a development chemist in 1974. He next moved from the lab into sales, relocating to Louisville, KY to join the Wm. B. Tabler Co. In 1984, he joined BASF Colorants as an Account Manager for the coatings, plastics and specialty colorants markets later becoming a Product Manager overseeing the colorant product lines for all three of these business units. He returned to Ohio as the manager of the BASF colorant distribution business for Seegott in 1998 and rejoined the Tabler organization in 2000 prior to accepting the position at R.E Carroll Inc. in 2013.
Thompson began his career in the paint, coatings and ink business at one of the family owned “trade sales stores” in Rocky Mount, NC. Hee worked for Gilbert-Spruance Paint Co, rising from small batch department into sales and then to Sales Manager. He next took a position at the Sadolin Akzo-Nobel Corp. for national accounts manager. He was a partner in his own company that was eventually sold to Technical Coatings (at that time part of the Benjamin Moore Paint Co.) Shortly thereafter he joined Sumter Coatings and was their top multimillion dollar producer for seven consecutive years before joining R.E. Carroll Inc. in 2012.
