Rudd Company, Inc., a leader in Wood Finishes, is pleased to announce the appointment of Ron Bryze as Midwest
Regional Manager/Training Manager for the Wood Finishes business unit of Rudd Company, Inc. In his new position Ron will be responsible for further developing the Rudd Wood Finish training program and working with Rudd Distribution partners in the Midwest. Ron Bryze is an industrial engineer with a 38 year background in the
woodworking industry. A third‐generation woodworker, he started a
woodworking business in the early 70s catering to high‐profile clients and prestigious architectural
and design firms. The styles of his ultra‐high‐end furniture and cabinetry ranged from modern to
hand carved period reproductions. He gained national exposure with commissions that included the
Library of Congress, the Chicago Symphony Orchestra and several historic residences designed by
Frank Lloyd Wright. The key element in all of his work was the finish. Bryze often found himself
developing finishing schedules replicating the 18th Century one day and the 21st Century the next. In
his most recent position Bryze was the Wood Finishes Manager for a market‐leading wood finishes
distributor in the Chicago, IL area. Jeff Takac, VP of Sales for Rudd Company comments “Rudd is
excited to have an individual of Ron’s caliber and experiences join the Rudd team. He will be
instrumental in supporting the continued growth of our focused Wood Finish Distribution initiatives”.
Bryze has presented specialty finishing seminars for the Centre for Advanced Wood Processing of the
University of British Columbia, the Cabinet Manufacturers Association and for the Architectural
Woodworking Institute. He has produced numerous training videos and software applications for
professional wood finishers and teaches classes on a variety of wood finishing subjects. Bryze is also
the author of two books: "The College of Wood Finishing Knowledge" and "Wood Finishing 2.0." He
can be reached at rbryze@ruddcompany.com.
