Department of Toxic Substances Control (DTSC) will mark a significant step in implementation of its landmark Safer Consumer Products regulations Thursday when it announces its first draft Priority Products. These products are consumer goods sold in California that each contain at least one chemical from a list of more than 1,100 that could potentially harm public health or the environment. DTSC is asking manufacturers to figure out if there's a safer way to make these products.
