Axalta Coating Systems is sporting the Brilliant Flames paint scheme this Sunday, on March 30, 2014, for the NASCAR Gas Booster 500 at Martinsville Speedway, home to driver Jeff Gordon’s 2013 win.
With eight Sprint Cup victories at the sport’s smallest track, Martinsville is, arguably, the best track for Gordon. In a stretch of the last 22 races (since 2003), the four-time Sprint Cup Champion has earned 20 top 10 finishes; 17 top fives; and five wins at the “Paperclip.” To say Gordon is dominant in the foothills of the Virginia Blue Ridge mountains would be an understatement.
“We are very excited for this race in Martinsville. Jeff consistently performs well there,” said Wade Robinson, Axalta Strategic Marketing and Racing Director. “It is a tradition that the winner receives a grandfather clock at this race instead of a trophy, so we are hoping that the grandfather clock chimes a brilliant Axalta tune on Sunday.”
Axalta Coating Systems provides “The Official Finish” of Hendrick Motorsports. We are proud to celebrate Hendrick Motorsports’ 30th anniversary. Its motorsports program is the fuel behind our brilliant 22-year partnership.
