The resin flooring specialist has identified a demand for its polymer floor and wall coating solutions across the region, as food manufacturers in many nations are striving to ensure that their facilities on-site sanitation adheres to Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) guidelines.
A key element of the Spring, Texas based manufacturer’s expansion includes working in collaboration with fellow RPM subsidiary The Euclid Chemical Company to introduce the innovative hygienic flooring system Flowfresh to multiple national markets, including in Colombia, Ecuador, Chile and Brazil.
The managing director of Flowcrete Americas, Dave McNeece, said: “Thanks to a lot of hard work, planning and dedication, we’re confident that Flowcrete Americas is very well placed to enter the Latin American construction sector.
“Not only is there a real need for both our floors and the extensive expertise that we have developed, but by working with Euclid to complement our respective product ranges we will be in a position to provide highly competitive and comprehensive solutions to the region’s biggest construction sites.”
Flowcrete’s route to market will initially focus on new build and refurbishment projects within the food and beverage industry, before connecting with other markets where hygienic flooring is a vital consideration such as the catering, healthcare, leisure and pharmaceutical industries.
The next step of the expansion plan will be to introduce other industry specific solutions. Flowcrete Americas’ wide-ranging flooring catalogue includes polyurethane and epoxy resin systems that have been tailored to the specific demands of many commercial and industrial facilities.
Flowfresh will be the first cementitious urethane floor available to the Latin American market to include an antimicrobial additive. Created out of an exclusive global partnership with Polygiene®, a compound is locked within the floor’s resin matrix that continuously releases silver ions capable of inhibiting the growth of up to 99.9% of bacteria on the surface of the floor.
The innovative qualities of Flowfresh have already made it stand out from the epoxies and acid resistant tiles commonly used within the Latin American food and beverage industry. Not only does it actively work to reduce the risk of contaminant build up but its hard wearing, low maintenance finish delivers long term financial benefits by avoiding high maintenance bills, expensive repairs or costly refurbishments.
To facilitate Flowcrete Americas’ expansion a brand new manufacturing facility in Spring, Texas has been constructed. This new 30,000 square foot facility has doubled Flowcrete Americas’ production capacity so that it can provide more products to more clients across the USA, Canada, Latin America and the Caribbean.
