Walter Rexing, technical group leader at PPG Industries’ industrial coatings manufacturing facility in Mount Vernon, has presented a PPG Industries Foundation check for nearly $1,000 to Hamilton County Junior High Principal Travis McCollum, Math Teacher Cindi Cox and Assistant Principal Jay Lentz for materials to aid in the instruction of key mathematical concepts.
“I am grateful that PPG supports its employees and their communities, especially the schools where we are involved,” Rexing said. “We are proud to help Hamilton County Junior High School offer enhanced learning materials to supplement its current textbooks. I hope the extra resources can inspire students to consider careers like mine that involve math, science and technology.”
Established in 1951, the PPG Industries Foundation demonstrates the values of PPG Industries by enhancing the quality of life in communities where the company has a presence. Interests of the foundation, in order of priority, are education, human services, culture and arts, and civic and community affairs. PPG also supports charitable causes by encouraging employees' volunteerism and board service with nonprofit organizations.
