The PPG Industries Foundation has presented a check for nearly $1,000 to Waltonville Grade School, enabling 166 students to each receive six books to own through the school’s reading program. The check was presented by Donna Burlison, customer service representative at PPG Industries’ industrial coatings manufacturing facility in Mount Vernon, Illinois, to Darla Oliver, librarian at Waltonville Grade School.
“PPG is strongly committed to supporting the communities where it operates and the schools where its employees are involved,” Burlison said. “It’s wonderful to see a love for reading developing in these students. They were so excited to receive these books, and I hope their love of reading will help them in their education.”
