Lux Research, a global provider of emerging technology research and advisory services, announced that it has acquired the assets of Energy Points, a leading provider of data and analytics that gives the most accurate and precise analysis of energy and resources.
Headquartered in Boston, Energy Points helps large companies and government entities improve their resource efficiency through analysis of energy, water, fuels, and materials. Both companies have a strong reputation of offering data-backed research.
As part of the transaction, Ory Zik, founder and CEO of Energy Points, and all of the data scientists from Energy Points, will be joining Lux Research. Lux Research clients will gain access to the Energy Points team, who have a combination of modeling, predictive analytics, statistical programming, and physics-guided data mining experience.
“This is an important transaction for both companies and we welcome Energy Points into Lux Research,” said Dennis Philbin, CEO of Lux Research. “The data and analytics from Energy Points will also become the foundation for a series of benchmarking products our clients can use to assess their resource efficiency and selection of technologies to improve it, and to better understand and predict the value of new resource-focused products and services in the market,” he added.
“We are thrilled to join the Lux team. Lux Research’s expertise at assessing technology will complement the data analytics and benchmarking from Energy Points to provide large companies a stronger, data-backed understanding of how to improve their resource usage and deploy solutions to improve the resource usage of their current and future customers,” said Ory Zik, CEO and Chief Scientist at Energy Points.
