Wayne Stewart, demand manager at PPG Industries’ aerospace application support center in Kennesaw, Georgia, presented a PPG Industries Foundation check to Kelly Burke and Karen Zayance, teachers at Woodstock High School, to fund a program for nearly 140 students. The $1,000 Innovative Classroom Grant supports a project pairing engineering and physics students to create electricity-powered model airplanes.
“I’m excited to see these students take part in a project related to aerospace,” Stewart said. “PPG is strongly committed to supporting the communities where it operates, especially by backing hands-on science- and math-based programs like this one that helps prepare students for future careers in advanced manufacturing.”
