BASF donated $10,000 to Wyandotte Public Schools for educational programs that will teach K-12 students about science, technology, engineering and math (STEM). The donation is part of BASF’s ongoing effort to increase student engagement in STEM education.
“BASF recognizes that today’s children are our workforce of tomorrow,” said Greg Pflum, Vice President and General Manager of BASF’s Midwest Hub. “STEM programs will prepare the next generation to develop new products and processes that create chemistry for a sustainable future. STEM programs support students that go on to be scientist and engineers, and also those in trade roles, which are becoming increasingly more technical and require a strong foundation of math and science principles.”
"The generosity of BASF will result in hundreds of students being able to take advantage of STEM initiatives and scholarships. I am so grateful for their partnership with Wyandotte Public Schools,” said school superintendent Catherine Cost.
