VanDeMark Chemical, Inc., Lockport, New York, USA has announced the appointment of James E. Romano as Vice President of Global Sales & Business Development. He will have supervisory responsibility for the entire sales staff of both VanDeMark and newly acquired Framochem Kft, Kazincbarcika, Hungary. VanDeMark is a leading North American manufacturer of phosgene and phosgene derivatives. Framochem, a wholly-owned subsidiary of VanDeMark, is a major European-based manufacturer of phosgene products.
“James brings to us the management experience and industry expertise to integrate the VanDeMark and Framochem teams" said Michael Kucharski, President and Chief Executive Officer of VanDeMark. “He will be at the forefront of the unification of all our product lines and phosgene chemistry specialization in the global marketplace.”
Romano joins VanDeMark from Chemtura Corporation, Middlebury, Connecticut, where he was a Global Key Account Manager and Business Development Director. He has also served in sales management positions for Eastman Chemical Company, Kingsport, Tennessee, and DSM Resins, Augusta, Georgia. He earned an M.B.A. with distinction from DePaul University and a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from the University of Alabama. He resides in Charlotte, North Carolina, where he will be based for his role in global sales.
VanDeMark is certified to ISO 9001:2008 standards, is a member of SOCMA and ACC, and participates in the Responsible Care initiative.
