Dow Coating Materials released CANVERA polyolefin dispersion technology for packaging coatings. CANVERA polyolefin dispersions offer a robust safety profile for formulators to create new sustainable and BPA non intent products. The portfolio of products consists of various grades of polyolefin compositions to meet several can coating performance needs and especially support the development of BPA-non intent systems.
“The CANVERA portfolio is aimed at offering coating formulators an alternative technology to the mature epoxy can coating technology. It is confident that the product offering comes at the right time as it sees an increasing pressure on the industry to formulate new sustainable and BPA non intent solutions,” commented Jan Weernink, marketing director for Packaging Coatings.
CANVERA Polyolefin Dispersion is based on Dow’s patented BLUEWAVE process technology which enables the dispersion of high molecular polymers in an aqueous system without the addition of surfactants or emulsifiers, which are typically used in the standard dispersion and emulsification processes.
