"Valspar is an important part of the Habitat home ownership journey," said Jim Pate, executive director of New Orleans Area Habitat for Humanity. "A truly meaningful moment for our homeowners is when they select paint colors for their new home. Thanks to Valspar, we can continue to provide these life milestones for our current and future partner families."
"Valspar is pleased to join with so many of our customers to support the mission of safe, affordable housing - the backbone of healthy, strong communities," said Kimberly Welch, Valspar vice president of Communications and chair of The Valspar Foundation. "Partnering with the PDCA raises awareness for Habitat's mission of helping families in need, and it provides an opportunity for attendees to give back in a fun way."
During the tournament, contestants will pay for the opportunity to make as many baskets as possible in 60 seconds. The highest-scoring contestants will be placed into brackets for the chance to play in the final prize round. All proceeds from the event will be matched by The Valspar Foundation and donated to the New Orleans Area Habitat for Humanity to help in its mission of providing families decent, affordable places to live.
The Painting and Decorating EXPO is presented by the PDCA, a national trade association dedicated to the success of painting and decorating contractors through ethics, education and excellence.
