Axalta Coating Systems is exhibiting its Energy Solutions – Voltatex® products and services at the Coil Winding Expo (CWIEME) in Berlin, Germany, from May 10-12, 2016 in Hall 3.2 on Stand A19.
Marcus Nünning, Business Manager for Axalta’s Energy Solutions – Voltatex business in Europe, Middle East and Africa, says, “CWIEME is the ideal opportunity for us to introduce existing and potential customers to our newest range of Voltatex products, which help to provide insulation and corrosion protection for electrical conductors and components. The show offers us the right platform to network in a constructive atmosphere, while showcasing some of our newest global solutions, including wire enamels, impregnating resins and electrical steel coatings.”
Wire enamels
Axalta’s wire enamels are used for primary electrical insulation, covering applications from fine wire for miniaturized electronic components to heavy round and rectangular conductors for large motors, generators or transformers.
Andreas Vendler, Global Product Manager for Axalta’s Energy Solutions – Voltatex business, says, “Voltatex® 7339A offers a THEIC modified polyesterimide-based magnet wire coating to our customers worldwide. With a high-solid content of 39% in combination with low viscosity of 800mPas, Voltatex 7339A provides smooth handling on both vertical and horizontal coating machines at a wide range of application speeds.”
Impregnating resins
For high voltage applications, Axalta offers excellent alternatives to the common epoxy-anhydride systems. The Axalta offering consists of one-component unsaturated polyesterimide impregnating resins and key coatings used to protect materials used in modern motors and generators.
Vendler adds, “We have a global product portfolio that is specifically designed for use in electrical motor and generator applications in thermal class 180 (H), offering mechanical stability, additional electrical insulation and excellent protection against a wide variety of environmental factors.”
Electrical steel coatings
With its portfolio of Voltatex electrical steel coatings, Axalta offers a complete range of high performance varnishes that meet the C3, C5 and C6 insulation classes according to the AISI-ASTM A 976-9 standards.
Nünning says, “During the show we will also be discussing Axalta’s next generation of electric steel coatings, Voltatex 1262, a new formaldehyde-free C6 coating used for the application of large generators, and Voltatex 1250V, a new C5 insulation with excellent slitting, punching and welding properties which were recently launched in China.”
CWIEME Berlin is the world’s leading event for the coil winding, electric motor and transformer manufacturing technologies and attracts a large global audience with more than 750 suppliers from 41 countries and visitors from 82 countries.
Axalta will also be at CWIEME Shanghai in June and CWIEME Chicago in October to present the full portfolio of Energy Solutions coatings to customers in all regions.
