Axalta Coating Systems said it recently conducted the FAW Audi Senior Paint Technician Certification program for 240 paint technicians – the largest group since the 2011 collaboration between Axalta and FAW Audi.
The program was held at Axalta’s Refinish Training Center in its newly-built Asia-Pacific Technology Center in Shanghai.
“We’re very pleased that we can help our auto manufacturing customers to improve their auto refinish efficiency and service quality through our world-class professional training and certification programs for paint technicians,” said Leo Zheng, Refinish Business Director at Axalta China.
The Axalta-FAW Audi Certification program spans three years of training, covering beginner to advanced theoretical and practical coating techniques, according to Axalta.
The course is comprised of 24 sessions, with training and examination held over two days, per Axalta.
Eligible participants must complete primary and advanced paint training prior to attending the course, the company said.
Axalta said course participants accessed the RTC’s “modern multimedia classrooms, state-of-the-art trackway spray rooms, prep decks and electronic intelligent toning system.”
The RTC can host 160+ technical coating training sessions a year, reaching over 2,000 automotive and industrial customers, Axalta said.
