Manager OEM and Industry Relations - Automotive Coatings

The purpose of this job is to develop and maintain relationships with Automobile manufacturers (OEM’s) Aftersales groups, BASF functional groups, other OEM suppliers, Collision Industry trade groups, government regulatory agencies and insurance companies. These relationships will be leveraged to create and maintain product approvals, marketing agreements, product endorsements, advertising, technical literature or product specific processes that increase sales of BASF refinish products. They will also be used to obtain accurate information that can be of value to refinish marketing and business decisions supporting profitable organic growth.


BASF recognizes institutions of Higher Education which are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent

• Bachelor degree in any discipline
• MBA preferred


• Minimum 5 years of experience in Sales or Marketing roles
• Minimum 3 years of experience the automotive industry, preferably in collision repair
• A comprehensive understanding of the collision repair industry
• Diverse experience in the automotive paint industry with an emphasis on the marketing, sales, training and technical applications functions
• Ability to influence and provide direction to colleagues, customers, industry associates, insurance and government agencies
• Solid problem solving skills with the ability to conduct ad hoc analyses, implement a solution and follow-up on results
• Creativity and ingenuity to collaborate with new organizations, processes and technologies
• An ability to provide leadership, direction and focus to larger organization
• Strong public speaking and presentation skills
• Developed written, verbal and electronic communication skills
• Excellent listening skills coupled with sensitivity to customer needs
• An ability to collaborate with colleagues globally and in other Regional Business Units
