Job Description:
The primary responsibility of this role is formulation development for new inkjet inks for the Digital Printing industry.
Responsibilities:
- Develop new inkjet inks for various print-head platforms for the textile and commercial markets
- Spearhead new technology platform development for next generation digital inks
- Work within an interdisciplinary technical team to define dispersion and polymer needs for the ink developments
- Work with project leaders, customers, and development partners to define performance targets and program objectives
- Provide technical leadership to deliver against program milestones and regulatory compliance initiatives
- Engage with Sourcing, Manufacturing Technology, and Operations to ensure successful scale-up for commercial manufacturing
- Work with internal partners in Marketing, Technical Service, and Sales as well as customers and external partners to drive successful commercial product launches
- PhD Degree in Chemistry or related fields, such as Chemical Engineering
- 3-5 years of experience in inkjet ink chemistry and/or coating formulations
- Experience with aqueous pigment-based ink formulation is preferred
- Experience in one or more of the following fields is highly desirable
- Interfacial science
- colloid/dispersed systems or particle science
- pigments
- color science
- polymer synthesis and rheology
- Experience with HPLC, IR, IC, ICP, GPC, GCMS, and LCMS techniques
- Motivated self-starter with good organizational skills and attention to detail
- Versatile team player – ability to work on multiple projects at once; willingness to learn new things
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills
