Dunn-Edwards has improved its EZ-Prime Premium Exterior Wood Primer, an exterior acrylic primer touted for its adhesion, hide, enamel holdout and tannin stain resistance on woods that are subject to stain bleeding. The new and improved EZ-Prime Premium still provides adhesion to wood, and now its tannin stain resistance is improved, making it an ideal primer for woods such as redwood, cedar, T1-11 siding, exterior plywood, doors, windows, trim and fences the company said. The resin used in its formulation provides better tannin stain resistance by either blocking out or locking in the tannins present in the wood so that it does not bleed through to the finish coats. EZ-Prime Premium is eco-friendly, ethylene glycol (EG)-free and produced in the company's LEED Gold-certified paint manufacturing plant. EZ-Prime Premium is ultra-low VOC at 50 grams per liter, and has very low odor both during and after application.
