Nof Metal Coatings Europe has been granted a patent for a method for forming a coated metallic substrate having an anticorrosion coating. The method is comprised of obtaining a coating composition including from 0.3 percent to 24 percent by weight of at least one agent selected from the group consisting of organic titanate, organic zirconate and mixtures thereof, from 10 percent to 40 percent by weight of a particulate metal or a mixture of particulate metals, at least 1 percent by weight of a silane-based binder, and water, wherein the sum of the organic titanate and/or zirconate agent and of the silane-based binder is from 5 to 25 percent by weight; forming a coating layer of the coating composition on a metallic substrate; and subjecting the coating layer to a baking operation at a temperature greater than 180° C. and up to 350° C. by supply of thermal energy to thereby form the anticorrosion coating.
