BehrPro, the professional products and services group of Behr Process Corporation, was the official paint sponsor and active participant in this year’s Hands On Atlanta Day, the city’s largest civic engagement day dedicated to transforming Greater Atlanta’s communities. In support of the city wide effort, hosted on Saturday, Oct. 5, BehrPro donated 155 total gallons of paint, including BEHR PREMIUM PLUS ULTRA, BEHR PREMIUM PLUS, BEHR PREMIUM Weatherproofing All-In-One Wood Stain & Sealer and BEHR PREMIUM Porch and Patio Floor Paint. A team of 25 local BehrPro volunteers also joined forces with more than 7,000 event participants to revitalize and beautify approximately 65 organizations, in just one day.
Raquel Hudson, associate director of corporate volunteerism at Hands On Atlanta, selected BehrPro as the exclusive supplier of paints and stains for the organization’s largest event of the year after success with Behr products on previous residential and commercial projects. Beyond the company’s high-quality product offerings, Hudson and her team has come to rely on the comprehensive portfolio of professional services available through the BehrPro program, including jobsite delivery, factory tinting and expert advice provided by representatives. She stated, “Having a dedicated BehrPro rep to help us select paints, provide advice and deliver product right to the jobsite has been crucial in streamlining our operations.”
“With the majority of Hands On Atlanta Day projects focused on restoring high-traffic areas, such as local schools or community centers, it was critical that the paint be durable enough to withstand consistent wear and tear,” said Hudson. “However, it was important that the paint was easy for our volunteers—some of whom have limited experience with large-scale paint projects—to apply in a short period of time. We also prefer to use bright, vibrant colors to create uplifting and inviting environments. Fortunately, we were able to find a variety of products that met all the criteria through the BehrPro program.”
BehrPro Sales Representative Phillip Hayes led volunteer efforts on behalf of the company and worked with Hudson and her team to identify the most fitting products for Hands On Atlanta Day projects. With everything from classrooms to picnic tables and murals requiring attention, Hayes and the BehrPro team were able to provide on-site expertise and help train volunteers on how to quickly and effectively complete the paint jobs.
“We were honored to join the 23rd Annual Hands On Atlanta Day and be a part of the thousands of community members who donated time and labor to help restore the schools and nonprofits in need,” Hayes said. “With BehrPro’s portfolio of high-quality products, Atlanta will receive the beautification it deserves, with lasting durability that requires less maintenance.”
