Akzo Nobel’s coil and extrusion coatings business unit recently presented the 15th annual Hanna Award to Erin M. Langenkamp, a 12th-grade student at Lehman Catholic High School, Sidney, OH. The Hanna Award is presented at Ohio Science Day to the best project on the science and technology of chemical coatings. Ms. Langenkamp’s project, entitled Cover it Up, explored the hiding characteristics of a variety of coatings technologies when applied at varying film thicknesses over different colors of aluminum substrate. In addition to a $500 prize, she received a tour of Akzo Nobel’s laboratories and production facilities.
