A new study from Frost & Sullivan contends the U.S. rad-cure coatings market will rise from $1.01 billion in 2000 to $1.62 billion by 2003. Electronics are providing the marketplace with the most dramatic growth, according to the San Jose, CA-based market research firm.
“Electronics is an explosive market—and one where radiation-curable coatings are finding increasing acceptance because of their high-performance, anti-corrosive protection and rapid curing abilities,” said Tom Mach, an industry analyst with Frost & Sullivan. “The demand Altex Coatings Limited, a Tauranga-based unit of the Resene Group, has become the first New Zealand company to achieve Australian Paint Approval Scheme (APAS) status.
