Charles Ross and Son Company has introduced a new model of its double planetary mixer. The new model, designated DPM, is available in many sizes from half pint to 750 gallons working capacity. The DPM can incorporate the patented HV blade design. This blade configuration allows use of the mixer for materials having a viscosity up to approximately six million centipoises, compared to approximately 1.5 million centipoises for older models, according to the company. The blade was designed to produce excellent axial and radial flow, while operating at close blade to bowl clearance. This design prevents the buildup of material on the tank wall and ensures efficient heat transfer when used with a jacketed mixing vessel, added the company.
