l The Glidden Company, with the agreement of the plaintiffs’ counsel, has been dismissed from the Santa Clara County lead paint lawsuit in California. The Glidden Company was dismissed as a defendant because it only came into existence in 1986 and has never manufactured or sold lead products for use in paint. The Santa Clara lawsuit was filed on March 23, 2000 in Santa Clara County Superior Court and also lists the California counties of San Francisco, Oakland, Santa Cruz, Solano and Alameda as plaintiffs.
