As in the first quarter, sales of high-performance coatings declined in the U.S. and European markets. However, sales of light industrial finishes in the UK, Australia and New Zealand increased over the same period in the prior year, reflecting general economic improvements, according to the company. Heavy industrial markets, such as offshore and petrochemical, remain soft.
