l Kemira will strengthen its paints and coatings operations in Scandinavia and the Baltic Sea area with the acquisition of Akzo Nobel Coatings’ Nordic general industrial liquid coatings activities. The acquisition, made by Kemira’s Tikkurila Coatings Oy, is expected to be concluded by the end of this year. Financial details of the deal were not disclosed.
“The acquisition of Akzo Nobel’s Nordic general industrial business activity will significantly strengthen our market position in Scandinavia and the Baltic Sea area,” said Tapio Käär, COO and president for Tikkurila Coatings Oy. “It also fits perfectly into our portfolio from a strategic perspective.”
