Merck Patent has obtained a patent for pigment mixtures comprising at least two components: multilayer pigments based on mica, SiO2 flakes, glass flakes, Al2O3 flakes or polymer flakes and platelet-shaped, acicular or spherical colorants and/or fillers. The pigment mixture can be used in varnishes, paint, printing inks, powder coatings and plastics.
