Pantone, Inc. and Cardinal Industrial Finishes have inked an international licensing agreement in which Cardinal will codify its industrial liquid and powder coatings with designations from the Pantone Matching System and Pantone for architecture and interiors color system. This marks the first time a company has been licensed to supply Pantone-verified, color-accurate paints.
Under the agreement, Cardinal will specify and custom match its products to Pantone Color Standards using methods that were closely monitored and deemed technically acceptable by Pantone. Cardinal’s industrial coatings are used for a wide range of applications, including computer components, office and casual furniture, lighting, fencing, tools and camping equipment.
“We are thrilled to lead the industrial coatings industry as partners with Pantone,” added Joanne Breslin, vice president of marketing for Cardinal. “Cross-referencing to the well-established Pantone Systems will permit exact color matching in industries that are sensitive to subtle nuances in color.”
