BASF Luwax polyethylene (PE) waxes can be added to metallic paints to ensure that the aluminum pigment particles remain evenly dispersed during the drying process, which causes them to become oriented in the dry paint. These versatile waxes are able to disperse pigments in plastics, which gives rise to high color strength and are added to paint and varnishes in order to enhance scratch resistance and to obtain a degree of matting.
