Method of powder
coating wood substrate
Patent No. U.S. 6,548,109 B1
H.B. Fuller has received a patent for a method of coating a wood substrate, comprising pre-treating at least one surface of the substrate with a substantially solvent-free treating composition. The treating composition is comprised of at least one thermoset material and having a viscosity that is sufficiently low to allow the treating composition to wet out the surface and to penetrate into surface fiber structure of the substrate; applying a powder coating composition chosen from thermosetting powder coating compositions, UV curable powder coating compositions, and hybrid UV/thermosetting powder coating compositions on the pre-treated surface of the substrate; and curing the powder coating composition.
