Akzo Car Refinishes Opens
ICT Center in Bangalore, IndIa
To foster development of new IT related services for the collision repair industry in India, Akzo Nobel Car Refinishes has opened an international ICT competence center in Bangalore.
The center, which will work in close cooperation with the global ICT center in Velp, The Netherlands, will focus on test work and activities in the area of data retrieval and programming. In the future, software development will also be performed in India, according to Akzo Nobel.
“With the presence of the new ICT competence center in India we are able to further strengthen our technological position in the market,” said Chris Wall, global marketing manager Akzo Nobel Car Refinishes. “India gives us a window on human talent and especially Bangalore has developed itself to be one of the ICT capitals of the world.”
According to Marc Veirman, global services manager, expanding the ICT center to India stems from current IT needs, but serves as an economical way for Akzo to develop new services for the collision repair market.
“Our establishment in India enables us to expand without big increases in cost,” said Veirman.
The ICT Competence Center is part of a unit of Akzo Nobel Car Refinishes India, which was incorporated in 1997. Akzo Nobel opened an international R&D center and a training center there in 2002.
