Sico Inc. has sold its interest in Sico-Becker S.A.S. to its partner in the venture, Becker Industrie S.A. The JV was created in 1998 to develop and market coatings for the European railway transportation industry.
The unit had sales of $5.2 million in 2004, according to Sico.
Sico said the decision to divest its 50% share is consistent with its goal to optimize the company’s operating productivity and profitability, particularly its industrial operations in North America.
