to Hit $13.4 Billion in U.S. by 2009
Demand for protective coatings in the U.S. is forecast to rise 4.6% per year, reaching $13.4 billion in 2009, according to a new study from Freedonia Group. Acceleration in durable goods production and a rebound in non-residential construction spending are expected to fuel growth.
Higher value coatings, such as multifunctional, environmental and niche products, will experience the largest gains. Demand for fire resistant coatings will also rise, according to the Cleveland, OH-based organization.
