Tego Coating Additives and Specialty Resins has introduced Tego Foamex 858, a defoamer that is effective in low-VOC (<50 g/l) architectural gloss and semi-gloss formulations. Foamex 848, a 20% active emulsion in water, eliminates foam with minimal risk of surface defects, can be used in coatings formulated with titanium dioxide slurries and provides excellent defoaming after long-term storage in a finished paint, according to the company. It is compatible with a variety of water-based resin systems including acrylic, vinyl acrylic and styrene acrylic emulsions.
