National Starch and Chemical Investment Holding Corporation has received a patent for a polyurethane hot melt adhesive composition consisting essentially of polyisocyanate, one or more polymeric polyols, a crystalline monofunctional, polymeric reactant and a functional thermoplastic polymer. The polymeric polyols is not a polyester polyol, wherein the adhesive comprises from approximately 5% weight to 20% weight of the reactant and wherein the thermoplastic polymer is selected from the group comprising acrylic polymers, hydroxy functional acrylic polymers, polyvinyl acetate, polyvinyl chloride, methylene polyvinyl ether, cellulose acetate, styrene acrylonitrile, amorphous polyolefin, thermoplastic urethane, polyacrylonitrile, polybutadiene, and mixtures thereof.
