AkzoNobel has appointed Sucheta Govil as the new global head of marketing for the company’s decorative paints business. Based in Slough, UK, she will officially take up the position on January 1. Govil joins AkzoNobel from PepsiCo, where her last role was vice president innovations and new business for the Asia, Middle East and Africa division (AMEA). Her main responsibilities included setting the long-term strategy for innovation and portfolio transformation across the foods and beverages segment in the critical markets of China, India, Australia, Southeast Asia, the Middle East and Africa. Prior to PepsiCo, Govil was employed by GlaxoSmithKline, where she also worked in the UK and was part of the strategic category management group.
