CHINACOAT2017 To Be Held November 15-17 in Shanghai

By Kerry Pianoforte, Editor | 11.09.17

This annual three-day event offers global industry players a full range of exhibits for the paint and coatings industry.

CHINACOAT2017 (the 22nd edition of the China International Exhibition for Coatings, Printing Inks and Adhesives) will be held November 15-17 at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre (SNIEC) in Shanghai, China.  The show has been an annual meeting place for the industry to gather and exchange ideas since 1996 and alternates its venue city annually between Guangzhou and Shanghai.

According to the show’s organizers Sinostar,  the China coatings market is fueled by strong economic growth, an emerging middle class and rising population in the region, there is an increasing demand for residential projects, automotives and higher quality coatings and paint products. Increasing infrastructure investment and shifting of global manufacturing to the region further spur the sales of coatings.

Sinostar noted that China continues to be the largest coatings market in the region, while India still offers significant potential for market growth as its per capita consumption remains very low. Thailand, Vietnam, Indonesia, the Philippines and Malaysia are experiencing rising incomes, improving standards of living and increasing domestic demand, bolstering the market growth.

In light of China’s importance in the paint and coatings industry, the event will have a large number of global exhibitors  who will showcase their new products and novel technologies.
CHINACOAT2017 will have five exhibit zones: Zone 3 (Hall E2) Powder Coatings Technology; Zone 4 (Hall E3) UV/EB Technology and Products; Zone 5 (Hall E3) International Machinery, Instrument and Services; Zone 6 (Hall E3) China Machinery, Instrument and Services and Zone 7 (Hall E-4-E6 and W1-W3).

CHINACOAT will also include the following educational programs: CHINACOAT 15th Conference: “Emerging Technologies and Formulations for Innovative Coatings Applications,” technical seminars and two Technical Workshops.

According to the conference chairman, Jamil Baghdachi,“Emerging Technologies and Formulations for Innovative Coatings Applications”are the most sought-after and actively researched areas in commercial product development, scientific research and technology. The CHINACOAT Conference provides a global intellectual platform for leading technologists, scientists and researchers from industry and academia to actively interact and share their ground breaking achievements. The Conference will establish bridges between the most novel concepts, technology and applications. Topics to be covered at the conference include the following: easy/self-clean, nanotechnology, sustainable & eco-friendly, self-healing & shape memory, self-stratifying, superhydrophobic, corrosion sensing, dirt & algae resistant, non-whitening/odor absorbing, antimicrobial & antifouling, hybrid organic/inorganic and color changing.

A series of Technical Seminars will be organized at the exhibition site.  Professionals from world-leading companies will share their technologies as well as practical solutions to allow visitors to stay abreast of the latest market trends.

To provide opportunities for training and learning for industry professionals, Technical Workshops will also be held concurrently with the exhibition in meeting rooms located inside SNIEC. The Workshops will be delivered in a highly interactive manner, where there will be opportunities for delegates to discuss technical problems with the tutors face-to-face.
