CHINACOAT2017 Continues to Grow

CHINACOAT Shanghai continues to grow. 

CHINACOAT2017 (The 22nd China International Exhibition for Coatings, Printing Inks and Adhesives) ended November 17. CHINACOAT alternates annually between Guangzhou and Shanghai. This year’s three-day event, held in Shanghai, was comprised of more than 1,200 exhibitors displaying their new products and innovations. According to Sinostar-ITE International, the show’s organizer, CHINACOAT recorded an increase of 13 percent for the total number of exhibitors against 2016. The show continued to attract new exhibitors to participate, offering visitors a wider exhibitor mix. There were 16 percent new exhibitors this year (193 out of 1,210). According to Sinostar, CHINACOAT also continued to attract exhibitors from more countries. This year the show added exhibitors from Vietnam and China.

CHINACOAT2017 had five exhibit zones: Zone 3 (Hall E2) Powder Coatings Technology; Zone 4 (Hall E3) UV/EB Technology and Products; Zone 5 (Hall E3) International Machinery, Instrument and Services; Zone 6 (Hall E3) China Machinery, Instrument and Services and Zone 7 (Hall E-4-E6 and W1-W3). The total gross exhibiton area was 86,000 sqm, which was a 32 percent increase compared to 2016.

This year’s show attracted 34,425 visitors – 29,262 were domestic China visitors and 5,163 were overseas visitors. According to Sinostar, there was significant growth in total number of visitors – up 11.6 percent (2016) and 16.4 percent (2015). Day 1 had 24,911 debuting visitors, Day 2 had 8,383 and Day 3 had 1,131. Sinostar reported that the total number of visitors on Day 1 drastically increased (up 30.5 percent in 2016 and 22 percent in 2015). Almost 20,000 visitors turned up on Day 2. Sinostar noted that the growing number of returning visitors indicate longer time spent on the show floor. The total number of delegates who attened CHINACOAT Conference and Technical Workshops was 4,004.


CHINACAOT2018 will be held in Guangzhou, China December 4-6.
