AkzoNobel announced its programming for the 2019 Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) Show, and Dave Kindig, television star of MotorTrend Network’s Bitchin’ Rides show and creator of his custom car company, Kindig-it Design, will once again play a major role. SEMA takes place from Nov. 5-8, 2019, at the Las Vegas Convention Center. AkzoNobel (booth #25163, rig #61014) will host autograph sessions throughout the show with Kindig and display some of his most iconic cars at the company’s booth and Kindig’s rig. At the company booth and beyond, AkzoNobel will also have its paints featured on show cars throughout the event, and company experts will share their expertise at the Society of Collision Repair Specialists’ (SCRS) IDEAS Collide Showcase and during a Repairer Driven Education (RDE) session. “SEMA is a highlight for our team every year,” said John Eubanks, AkzoNobel regional marketing manager – Americas, Automotive and Specialty Coatings. “It’s an opportunity to share our expertise in color and our commitment to the vehicle refinishing industry with customers and partners – and to have some fun with collaborators like Dave Kindig.” In addition to daily autograph sessions with Kindig, the AkzoNobel booth will be home to two of Kindig’s vintage masterpieces – his 1967 Dodge Coronet and 1964 Pontiac Tempest. Both cars feature Modern Classikk paints, which are the result of Kindig’s partnership with AkzoNobel. The full line of Modern Classikk custom finishes now includes 33 basecoat colors and four reducers. An Aston Martin DBS Superleggera Volante painted in Sikkens Autowave Cosmos Orange will be on display at the AkzoNobel booth (#25163). SEMA attendees will also see the company’s paints on both new and vintage vehicles throughout the show, including:
