03.26.20

Elementis provided the following statement regarding the novel coronavirus (COVID-19):

"The novel coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak around the globe has caused great concern about the impact on people and businesses. As with many global companies, Elementis has been monitoring the situation very closely and has implemented many preventative measures to reduce the risk of exposure to our employees and our businesses.

"First and foremost, we want to assure our customers that we are operating safely. In addition, Elementis has taken proactive measures to reduce risk to our supply chain; and in turn, enable us to continue to meet our commitments to customers. These measures include:

  • Working with suppliers regarding the supply of our raw materials and reviewing contingency plans to reduce the likelihood of disruption in our supply chain;
  • Developing robust site-by-site contingency plans to help us limit the impact of employee exposure and absences;
  • Establishing an executive COVID-19 team that has been in place since January and proactively took measures to communicate with our employees, implement preventative measures and provide guidance to reduce exposure and risk to our employees;
  • Continuous monitoring of federal, state and local briefings regarding potential and actual outbreaks while working closely with local agencies to minimize any potential impact;
  • Engaging our supply chain partners including the railroads and trucking companies to confirm they have adequate plans in place to mitigate any impact to services.
"We have a robust global footprint, well-established capabilities in various regions and multiple distribution centers with inventory and safety stock that positions us well in the face of these unprecedented times.

"The safety of our workforce and the commitments to our customers are of utmost importance, and we feel at this time we can respond and minimize potential impact to our business and yours."
