PPG will exhibit a wide array of sustainable glass, coatings and paints and make a technical presentation about high-performance fluoropolymer coatings at the AIA Convention 2016, the annual gathering of the American Institute of Architects (AIA), in Philadelphia, May 19-21.
PPG will showcase its unique ability to provide architects and designers with an integrated source of color-harmonized high-performance glass, coatings and paints. SOLARBAN 90 glass, incorporating the latest refinements to PPG’s proprietary triple-silver glass coating technology, will be highlighted, along with DURANAR, Duranar ULTRA-COOL and Duranar VARI-COOL liquid coatings and Duranar and CORAFLON powder coatings for metal. These products will be complemented by well-known PPG PAINTS lines such as PURE PERFORMANCE and SPEEDHIDE paints.
Additionally, Scott Moffatt, PPG market manager, building products, will present a technical session on high-performance fluoropolymer coatings in Continuing Education (CE) Theater C, Booth 324. The presentation will cover advances in fluoropolymer coatings technology, including the development of infrared-reflective (IR-reflective) coatings for enhanced sustainability, and explain why not all fluoropolymer coatings are created equal.
“From advanced solar control low-e (low-emissivity) glasses to colorful infrared-reflective metal coatings and robust low-VOC (volatile organic compound) paints, PPG can help architects coordinate color across virtually every interior and exterior surface of a building,” said Margie Hahn, PPG manager, architectural services team.
Hahn said visitors to the PPG booth can collect color fan decks for paint and discover online specification tools for glass, coatings and paint such as digital binders, apps, color selectors and PPG Glass eVIEW. There also will be sourcing information for coil and extrusion coatings through the PPG CAP CERTIFIED APPLICATOR PROGRAM group, and PPG will display alliance partner products such as bird-safe AVIPROTEK with Solarban glass by WALKER TEXTURES glass and OPACI-COAT-300 spandrel glass coatings by ICD High Performance Coatings.
